First time ever, I am going to go to a different meeting. Very scary!
But I really want to be weighed. And the meeting topic was a good one, so don't want to miss out on that too! Supposed to be about easy (is there such a thing) ways to keep weight off, from success stories...i think that is what is about, that is what I gathered anyway!
And being weighed isn't just because I want to see if I got under 90, but also because I gained last week, I need to know I am back on track with it all! So new people, new leader, new venue. I hope they are a friendly bunch, and the leader doesn't embarrass me with an introduction, like my leader does!
But before that, I am going for a run.
Since I had no netball last night, i had NO exercise. So today is a must. I didn't even do 10000 steps! Doing week 8 session 2. Taking my Aunty (who is only a little older then me). She is on week 6 I think, session 1. But she is going to give it a go, see how far she can get. I go incredibly slow, so I think she will be able to do the distance with me!
Speaking of steps...i have hardly done any today as well...444 to be exact and it is 3.30. But there is an error. I am wearing a skirt that is quite high, so my pedometer is not sitting on my hip. I can't believe the difference it makes! And the skirt...is a designer label in a size 14! :) My sister gave me some of her "fat" clothes a few weeks ago, and it didn't zip up then. Now, loose on the hips and slightly tight on the waist, but i think it looks nice. My stomach looks flat in it! And I am not sucking it in! I can't do that all day!
Right now I have a killer of a headache though...grrr..hopefully it will go very soon. Have a lot of work to do before I go for my run...marking...i hate it! But it must be done, so should stop procrastinating!

GRRRR Storms
How do storms ruin your night?
Well, let me count the ways.
Firstly, driving to WW for weigh in. Driving through flooded roads, worried that water will seep into my car, and the breaks would go. Add to that the lightning that was filling my car with the brightest of lights...it was amazing but so incredibly eerie!
Secondly, the power goes out. for a change not at our house, but at WW. So NONE of the equipment is working. no lights, no EFTPOS, no scales :(
So NO WEIGH IN! so i don't know if i am officially an 80s girl or am I just hoping!
Thirdly, My daughter is so incredibly scared of the "under" because it is noisy that she all of a sudden becomes a daddy's girl and mummy can't protect her! And just to prove mums really aren't there for protection, my dog under dads feet shaking (in fear not cold) and my parents dog which we are babysitting, trying to climb on top of daddy too (remember, he has DD on him as well!). Quite funny...but where is mummy in all of this? Left Right Out!!!
Finally (but I am sure I will come up with more!)...netball semi final...DID NOT HAPPEN! Bloody storms. I wasn't really looking forward to driving out to netball with the hail and wind and lightning, but it was a semi final. When WW was cancelled, I thought I better ring up our captain to see if she knows if the netball centre has power. Well, no they don't have power, or a roof! The roof had caved in! OMG! Lucky we weren't playing! And glad I didn't drive out there to discover that, BUT i love my netball and I missed it!
Now, we have peace. There is no rain, hail or "under". It is incredibly quiet outside, not even a hoon on the streets, and planes have been cancelled (we live near the airport so can get quite noisy!) so nothing. But for how long? Is this the calm before the real storm???
A second finally....the biggest reason I hate storms...every year we have one major major storm. This apparently is the worst storm we have had in 10 years, so worse then the any storm we have had in this house. But every storm reveals a new leak in our roof (after getting our roof fixed), every storm we find a new dip in ceilings caused by the leaking in our roof, and every year we need to get the roof people back in to fix our roof and the ceiling guy back in to fix our ceilings. So this being the worst storm then any of those...where and when will the leak occur and the ceiling die??? Oh I don't want to jinx it, but...when you have had the problems we have had...you would understand my fear!!!
So now, I have to wait another week for my weigh in. Surely by next week I will be in the 80s, if I wasn't tonight. This is the disadvantage of not having scales at home! Now I really can't slack off though...must keep doing all of my good work, healthy eating from last week. It is hard to keep going (for me) without a result...good or bad...and easy to go into a slump...but I will not let that happen! again! Or maybe I try another centre...hmmm a possibility!

It was tough today!
WOW! Kickboxing almost killed me today!
And it certainly wasn't due to being unfit.
It was due to when being told to jog, i jogged, and told to sprint, i sprinted (or at least I felt like i was sprinting!).
Other times, my "sprint" was a slightly faster jog, if at all. And certainly not by the end of the session...it was a slow jog!
But today, i sprinted right up to the end.
And boy it was tough. I thought I was going to vomit. I recovered quickly though as i had to hold the bag for my partner...still jog/sprint, but i had the "break" of not having to punch or kick or do knees or shoulders or whatever else i had to do prior...it became a blur!
I felt soooo good afterwards though.
Then...my hardwork...RUINED!
We went into Freo, walked around, and stopped in for a coffee. And lunch. I chose fettuccine with artichoke, sundried tomatoes and chicken in a tomato based sauce. Well, the tomato based sauce also came with cream. I actually couldn't eat it all as it was too rich. but i ate a lot of it.
So, because i chose to eat it, i chose the dish, i chose to eat as much as i did (i ate well over satisfaction as I hate wasting food...and doggy bags don't exist anymore!), i decided i needed to work it off.
So C25K tonight.
Week 7 session 3. The final 25 minute run. And I chose to do it up and down hills. I really am a tool sometimes! But I did it! I also decided on my way back to the car, once i got over the final hill, that i would do week 1 intervals, but at a running pace, not jog. I did 5 intervals before I hit the car.
And I wasn't collapsing!
I did it! I am physically exhausted now. My legs know they exist! But gee it was good to finish that first 25minutes, have a walk for 7 minutes then be able to go again. It was such an achievement. In my 25minute run, i probably only ran just over 3km, was supposed to be 4.1 i think. but i did have hills.
I am a little worried i wont be able to make the 5km on Sunday. I just don't know if i can make the distance. But i am a determined B. I. #. % H so I am sure I will push myself.
For now, I will be in bed and asleep early, because I am off to the lake tomorrow. planning to do week 8 session 1...but thinking i might just do a lot of walking laps!
oh and i weighed myself at my friends house today...not an official weigh in, but i was an 80s girl! 89.9. so i am HOPING it stays for monday's weigh in. But if i am still a 90s girl that is ok...i was an 80s girl for a few days!!!

what is up with my sleep?
Well, another C25K down. Week 7, session 1. And the 25minute run was good. Not as asthmatic; possibly due to the weather being a bit more stable and my bum wasn't as sore. I really need to work my butt muscles. Some donkey kicks for me coming up! Oh dear!
I am still really really tired during the day. Even with me eating better and really concentrating on eating protein, I don't know why I am needing to nap every day (except work days). I take my DD out in the mornings to run her ragged and get her super exhausted so she will have her day nap (very worried she will drop it soon and she needs to realise she still needs it!) but I am not the one running around. I shouldn't need to nap as well. I should be able to go do all my housework, mark school work, do some exercise, anything...but nap! but all i do is sleep. normally i sleep for about an hour. so more then a nanna nap!
I get plenty of sleep at night, and I wake up fine. I am not over doing the exercise. Yesterday was 35 minutes. It was a jog, and my heart rate was at the ideal pace for a long run (not high like a cardio work out!). I eat plenty of red meat, plenty of everything really. I always make sure I eat from all the boxes in the WW journal and the right amount of each. I have never had iron deficiency before. How do you test if you are deficient in iron anyway, apart from a blood test? I can't see why I would develop now though. I still eat my red meat! Love it! I know carbs can make you sleepy, but I eat less then I used to. I would have previously had 2 sandwiches, now I will just have one, so two pieces of bread. Plenty of carbs for one meal.
It is very strange!
Because I am now awake, I should do the housework I was going to do when I was napping! Washing to be hung, floors to be mopped...oh and what is for dinner? Fish and... ???? That planning thing they keep going on about at WW, is a bloody good idea! Should get on that band wagon ALL the time...not just every now and then! :)

What a Difference a Day Makes!
It really does!
Last night I planned everything I was going to eat today, and made sure all meals had protein (after the meeting last night I thought I would really focus on protein) and I used 23 points, with 1 to spare.
I had swimming lessons today, and asked for a skinny flat white, and got a latte. so there was my 1 point!
I had energy. I wasn't hungry. I have had my 24 points. I don't need more. I won't go over.
I had arranged with my WW friend to go to her house to the gym. I ran down and around the block and up a hill back to her house...unfortunately not quite my 25 minutes, but 18, not bad! Then she wanted to go for a walk. So we walked the block, to the park and oval, around the elite area, back around the oval and park, up the hill to her house. We did 9000 steps in that time.
then I had to get home! AAARGH, that meant walk/jog and I was buggered!
But I told myself I would jog home, be home in time for dinner!
Up the hill and all! 13 minute jog. All up I was out for 1 hour and 40 minutes. In that time I did about 13500 steps! I have done 23000 for the whole day! 12 bonus points.
I am physically exhausted. My hamstrings are sore, my bum is sore! damn that hill.
But gee do I feel good!
Haven't got to planning tomorrow yet. Hard one as mum and dad are up for the night before they fly off somewhere...and dad is a real meat eater, and mum is a vegetarian. Mum always has really simple meals, just vegies and maybe a tin of tuna added to it (she still eats seafood). But to me, that just isn't right! That is a lunch, not a dinner! And I refuse to cook two different meals to satisfy people! One meal thank you! Especially on a work day! A busy work day!
So I could just cook fish. However, we only eat FRESH fish. Frozen stuff is horrid! Seafood snob here! And where we get our fish is too far away. Every time we try a different fish monger, they are never as good, so never want to go anywhere else.
I work tomorrow, have to do reports and stay back a bit. I will not have time to do anything!
Wednesday's are my worst day! Hate them. I feel so rushed on Wednesdays from the second I wake up. It is morning tea at school day, which is tough! yummy food. and I must be able to say no to it! Last week I couldn't, mmmm, mars bar slice! So I don't know what to cook for dinner tomorrow. I doubt I will have a lot of points left due to morning tea. But I must try!
I am thinking we all get different take out and I will go a Dominoes pizza. Liked it last time. That could be a go. Or I might go subway. hmmm decisions...i just want it simple! Not good on the week I am getting back on track!
GRRR!!!
Today was great though. And I need to be strong tomorrow. I can, I will...DO IT! :)

A gain.
Well I gained 700gms. Not a lot, but hopefully this is the kick up the butt i need to get me back on track.
I neeeeeed to stop eating more then my allocated points! How ridiculous am I that I get to my points allocation, and I look at it and make a conscious decision to continue to eat.
Last night i had 11 points for dinner. If we stayed at home and ate what I cooked, I would have used 7 of those points, and that is probably exaggerating. so instead we went out to dinner before the movies, and we shared a pizza and shared an entree sausage dish. Now previously I would have eaten the entree to myself, so well done for sharing.
But...12 points for my share of the pizza and 2.5 points for my sausage. I looked and looked over the menu so many times...and seriously nothing healthy. Even all the pasta dishes (we went Italian which is normally good!) with a tomato base had cream in it and they didn't adjust. Everything was laden with cream and pasta.
Then, even though I didn't know the exact points i had eaten, but i knew i had gone over...i still decided to have wine. yes low alcohol, but seriously...did i need it? NO! so another 2 points!
In the end I was 7 points over.
And I could have stopped. I should have stopped.
For the whole week, I have had 2 days (today included) where I did not go over points.
I always had exercise points...yesterday I had 7.5 exercise, so I haven't eaten more then the exercise points...BUT, it obviously means I need to save more then 0.5!
And quite frankly, I don't need to eat them. Have I been hungry? NO. I have just been GREEDY! Our leader today told one of our members who had cut out her treats that we need to remember that treats are that...TREATS. Not every day! Well, I have been treating myself for morning tea, afternoon tea, in between arvo tea and dinner and dessert. Some treat!
So I have planned all my meals for tomorrow. I have written them down, and crossed off my points. I am eating 23 points, and that includes snacks. I am allocated 24 points. So I have 1 to spare.
I am being hard on myself, not because I gained, I truly believe I needed this gain. I am hard on myself, because, I know exactly what I am doing wrong. I know what I need to do. I know that I have made the bad decisions and I know that ONLY I can change those decisions. So of course writing them down, making it very clear to myself, I know what I WILL change.
And of course, I will continue to do my exercise. I am going to jog to my friends house after work tomorrow (i hope i can leave early!) and then exercise in her gym, then jog back. I want to do wk 7 session 1 in my run to her house. If I get home early enough I should be able to. I am also yet to start doing any resistance work...so that is why I am off to use her gym.
Here is for a GREAT week...STICKING TO POINTS...upping my exercise; no; mixing up my exercise and getting back on track!

week 6 seesion 3
WOW!
That wasn't easy! Firstly getting up on a Sunday morning.
Secondly...25 minutes of jogging is the longest I have gone for. I have realised I HATE running around in circles. I have this mental block that a lap is the finish. Once I complete a lap, or 2, or whatever my goal is, I should stop. so it was very hard when i still had 4 or so minutes to run after 2 laps.
But I did it.
I did 25 minutes of jogging, NON stop!
I jogged 3.9km in this time.
That is one good thing about running around in circles, at the lake. Every 100m is marked out, so I know EXACTLY how much I have run.
So not only have i jogged 25 minutes straight, I have jogged further then ever, and faster then I have before. Not that I went fast! But faster!
I am now up to week 7, and all 3 sessions are the same, 25minute jogs. I can do this! And I can improve my speed!!!
After my 25minutes, I then did another 2.5 laps of the lake with my WW friend. Then we enjoyed a skinny coffee watching the birds and the other silly people walking and jogging the lake!
On my return home, my husband informed me that we are off to the Moonlight Cinemas tonight, so his mum wouldn't be visiting this morning. Instead we would go to the beach.
And it was perfect. A trip to the beach, put on my board shorts that I got in Bali that were hard to do up, but I got them for the next 5kg I lost and surely I would get the button up easier. Well, button up now! A little tight, but fine to wear and I looked fine in them.
Spent over an hour at the beach, and have come home and had a yummy lunch!
Today might just be the first time in a long time, where I don't go over points. And not eat into exercise points. With what we are having for dinner, it is more then achievable, with points left over. Only I can ruin it!
So hopefully, missy will sleep soon and NOT climb out of her cot like I can hear she just has (yes she did!) and I can get some housework done, then get ready for the movies. Can't wait! We must be the last of the people who hasn't seen Avatar. Hope it is as good as everyone says it is, even if it isn't on 3D!
