2.8km!!!

I succeeded! I decided not to do interval training as my knees were just shot. So I tackled the lake...and 2.8km!
And in all honesty, I think I could have gone 2.9, but then I knew next week I would have to get to 3km or more! LOL

I did use the gymboss though. I did a mini circuit of situps/pushups/tricep dips/squats all for 1 minute each, 2 sets. I didn't have to look at a watch or anything...gymboss let me know when to swap. It was great!
Also managed one whole minute of the plank.

Then i went for a final jog and did 1.2km. not bad for the second run! To think, before I did my knee way back before weight watchers etc. and i was jogging with my friend, I couldn't run 1km. Now I can run it on my second run, when my legs are like jelly!
Yay me!

One thing I should point out...I think I may have gone either slower then usual (which is already slow). But my goal doing the lake running is distance...not speed. So slow and steady COMPLETES the race...I aint interested in winning! :)

Bad knees...must be old!

After yesterdays group training, my knees are killing me! I probably expected it from my dodgy knee, but not my good one! Why is it failing me??! I went to the shops yesterday and all I could feel was an ache.

I was going to go jogging this morning...but when I got out of bed, ooooh...still so sore and achy. I thought better of it. So was planning on a walk, but then suggested we all go for a bike ride down in south perth. We parked at Burswood, went over the causeway, planning to go to a park. But then, we kept riding. I even rode up the hill to go over the narrows bridge, without needing to walk the bike or stand up! I might have been slow but I got up! YAY ME! :)

So we did the bridges...and then an extra bit to get back to the car.
12km all up!
Very happy with that effort.

Also, made beef and pumpkin lasagna to freeze and mushroom crustless quiche. So one of my goals is done!

Not sure if I will get a chance to attempt the 2.7km. If I go jogging tomorrow, I really want to try my gymboss, which means more intervals!

But at least I did two goals this week!

interval training sucks

I returned not too long ago from group training, and it was the hardest one so far!
To start...warm up. jog, jog backwards, knees up, heels to bum, sideways left and right...repeat.
Then, just for fun, 5 minutes of jogging with 20second sprints. I haven't started my own interval training despite having my gymboss...and I can now see why I have delayed it.It is hard!
So finish the 5 minutes...split into 3 groups. My group gets the long run first! AAARGH! Nearly die, then my group has more intervals!
More AAARGH!
then finally, I get to lie down and do crunches...
Then just for punishment...here we go again! All of it all over again. I really didn't think I would make it.

Finish off with another interval, but only 3 minutes and 20sec sprints...then more crunches and then jogging left/right fast changes and squats.
Bloody hard! I thought my scar on my knee was on fire! 5 years ago my operation, and it still has major issues! But I survived! Just!

I feel good this week. Exercise wise, I have pushed myself to go that little bit further/longer/harder.
Food wise, apart from Australia Day, points are under by 2...and I can't go higher without eating more snacks, which my goal is to put more of my points into my lunch/dinner...which I am doing...and i am trying to reduce my snacks. I don't feel bloated, I don't feel like my tummy has doubled in size, and it is that time of the month. I am going to have a good weigh in on Monday. I can feel it! :)

Very proud last night. Went to a Veducci clothing party. Didn't have any nibblies. I had a really filling dinner, so couldn't eat anything else. And...while I couldn't fit into a pair of size 16 pants, I was able to fit into a skirt...size 12! Unbelievable!
But my purchase...a size 14 dress! I am going to wear a dress! woohoo! And although I know these clothes are nicely sized for us bigger girls...I am going to have an item of clothing with a size 14 label on it! YAY! I can't remember the last time that happened! no size 20 or 18! Expensive dress though. So I have decided it will be my 15kg loss reward. which isn't really that far away!
I have also decided to push me along...every time I go over 12000 steps, I am going to put aside $1. With that money, buy a new item of clothing. So this lot will go towards my dress. And of course I want clothes, so I will do everything possible to go over my 12000 steps! Already half way there today, and it is only 8am! Once I have paid for this dress, I will up the steps to 13000.

Looking forward to today. Daughter at Oma's so I can get some school planning done. At 1pm I am off to "Blush" for my birthday massage (from November). A very swanky day spa. Looking forward for my hamstring to have a good rub, that spot in my back to get taken care of and a really deep massage of my shoulders. Heaven for 1 hour!
And depending on how good I recover from training...Wii fit?? or nanna nap! and of course if time permits!!!

although dead...I feel really proud of my efforts at training. I did it when I thought I couldn't! Makes a great start to the day! :)

busy morning, exercise done!

Been up since 6am. Decided after last nights bbq I need to work my butt off this week. I went 6 points over, because my sister has the best food! Wasn't as healthy as I thought it would be, but the meat was as fat free as meat could possibly be! And I had a glass of sparkling. I have decided Friday and Saturdays are my 2 drinks days, but hey, it was Australia Day, Public Holiday. You have to enjoy yourself sometimes!
And really, my first, no second, slip up in 13 weeks.

And I know I went over, so now I work for it!

So I went for a jog this morning. Probably ran about 1.8km. I went to a different lake/oval today. last time i did it, i jogged 1 1/2 times. this time i did 2 laps (minus the warm up lap of the oval). And while that has improved...on Sunday I did 2.5km at a different place.
It is amazing how a venue can change your abilities. both flat so nothing different. but it is a mental state of the laps. a. there are not 100m markings to keep pushing, so i only have my pedometer to go by when i do stop. b. because i did 2 laps, it is time to stop. well, no it shouldn't be, but it felt like it. if the lap was bigger, i could have gone more.
Have to get over that mindset!

But after I dropped my daughter off at daycare (oh how lovely it is on again, oh bugger that means holidays are over), i went for a walk down the foreshore. the plan was to get to 7000 steps. I got to 10000 steps. 40 minutes walk. I feel good! It is so nice to get the exercise out of the way.

And I got my Gymboss! So I am going to go and some interval training tomorrow. Have a go at HIIT. They recommend 30sec sprint and 90sec walk intervals. I think I will do 20 and 100. speed is not my thing! LOL.
But will have another early morning so I can get my exercise in early and feel good afterwards!

So before I start work, I am going to give myself that reward I have put in my goal. I am going to go have a shower, use the mandarin body polish and cream, and the peppermint foot stuff my sister gave me for Christmas (received last night) and just relax for 30 minutes, before hitting the computer for work!

RELAX here I come! :)

Another loss!

Well, after worrying I would gain as I was feeling so bloated, I am very glad to report a 0.5kg loss. I had kept below points, exercised lots...so really I should have lost weight, but I had a glimmer of doubt!
So YAY!  11.4kg gone, never to be seen again...and I can't see again as I threw out all the clothes the 11.4kg will fit into! :)

Had group training this morning. Unfortunately didn't feel like much of a workout as I couldn't run. My hamstring is still quite sore and was painful behind the knee. so decided not to irritate it anymore and didn't run. Worked the arms though with tricep dips, push ups and I find the plank just as hard on the arms as the stomach! Hopefully I will be able to move them tomorrow still!

Played netball (hmmm...didn't think about irritating my knee!) and although only played GK and 1/4 of GD, I played well, just not a good run and sweat! We only lost by 3 points to a very young, fit team...the GS and GA are so quick and just glide along the court. I played really well, and with the GD (she is awesome) we troubled them! It wasn't easy for them! But can someone tell me please...why do people insist on caking makeup on for a game of netball? It is female sport, not mixed, no guys even come down to watch, except a few husbands. who are they trying to impress? Seriously! Asking for acne I say!!!

Will try a jog tomorrow. I have some dynamic stretches specific to the hamstring and some warming up exercises too. I tried the dynamic stretching before netball and I could feel it loosen.

Have a bbq to go to tomorrow, but so not stressing about it like the one the other day. I know this one will have healthy food and good meat etc. Of course will still take something, but just know it wont interfere with the points!

And a final note...my awesome GD, I haven't seen her for about 6 months...she didn't recognise me when she walked into the netball courts. she couldn't believe how much weight i lost and how good i looked! she literally walked straight past me!
Now that felt good! I think I am starting to like myself! :)

Have a great Australia Day everyone!

BBQ down!

Well the day after the bbq with old friends we haven't seen in over a year (November 2008 to be exact!). I cannot believe how much weight she has put on! She used to be all stomach and had quite skinny legs. Whereas me, i was just big all over! but now she is bigger all over. I used to think we were of similar size, I was probably 5kg lighter, if that! Now though...I have lost 10, she has gained 20...and I really noticed the difference. And I know it is terrible for her, but it really made me feel like I am changing my life for good and I felt better about myself. I am not stuck in a rut, trying to give excuses. I am doing it! I hope she decides to take on a healthy lifestyle...she is trying for a baby and I just don't know how she will fall pregnant with that weight, and if she did, how difficult the pregnancy would be. I just know for myself, I will never let myself get to that again. I don't want to look that big, struggle standing up, feel uncomfortable and have the lack of energy she had. I will not return!

Thank god I took my green salad and meat, and nibblies!
She had salami, crackerwerst (spelt wrong but no idea how else to do it??!), 4 different cheeses, pate and bbq shapes for nibblies! aaargh! didn't have any of it!
We had to wait until 8pm for dinner, normally we eat at 6! I thought I was going to die but I kept nibbling on my 0 points celery/capsicum etc.

Anyway, her salads were potato salad and a Waldorf salad with almost as much mayo as the potato!
The meat was thick sausages and forequarter chops.
So I ate my 2 italian chipolatas from woolies (2.5 points), my carefully weighed heart smart no fat steak (3 points) and my green salad, as well as two tablespoons of potato salad which i put down as 2.5 points ( i really didn't have a lot!). I had 2 light beers which this brand is only 1 point each, and with the dip i had (0.5) I used 10.5 points. I had 14 left before going!
I added on an extra point, just because I thought maybe I under estimated, so still under for my points!

I did no exercise yesterday, so got up this morning and went for a jog around the lake. Got my goal! 2.5km! woohoo! Unfortunately I then walked 100m and started jogging again, but only managed 500m. My hamstring/calf...right behind my knee really tightened again and the outside of my knee started to hurt as i could feel it overcompensating for the tightness of the muscles. So i gave my leg a really good stretch, then just walked the rest, and walked slowly the final lap. I did some sit ups/pushups/squats/tricep dips too.

then afterwards we took our toddler to the zoo. walked around the savannah in the heat...there is noway it is only 32 degrees...at least 35! Sweated all the water I have had to drink today. We stayed for about 2 hours and then came home to the air con.
I have earned 4 points just from steps today, 11 662, and only half way through the day! I haven't added bonus points on for the jog!
So a really good day.
Walking the zoo, my leg felt really good. But I will ask at group training tomorrow what I can do to help it before i jog, it had been going so well! i guess i am just doing so much more. need some dynamic stretching!

Oh yeah, finally...yesterday I went through my wardrobe and tried on all my clothes. (already did my drawers a month ago). I have put in a bag for the salvos 15 fat items. my hubby told me to keep them...and i said "why? i am never going to be that big again? i literally had pants that left a red mark on my belly, slip past my hips. OH WHAT A FEELING! And i have a brown skirt that fitted me when i had my PT after my knee recon (4 1/2 years ago)...i was at 94kg, the lightest I had been pretty much as an adult (lasted about 3 months), and as I was putting it on i was thinking to myself "this is where the excitement goes because I wont be able to get it up to my hips, let alone zip it!" (as was the case last time I tried it, about a year ago!)...and you know it...up, zipped and muffin top was non existent with it! It made my stomach look flat, without having to tuck my flab anywhere!

So very happy to ditch the old, and making room for the new! I so desperately need work clothes now...but I am not buying any until I am a very easy size 16. I will just have to struggle with what I have! Wash regularly! Work clothes are so expensive and I don't want to waste money when I am not going to be that size forever! Am looking forward to work next week. Hopefully I get a comment or two...been 6 weeks since I have seen anybody from work and in that time have dropped a dress size and toned up a lot, so surely someone will notice! Not that I am doing it for anybody else, but every body likes a compliment...lets you know that your achievements are being seen by more then just you!

one bad, one good! At least it's even!

For whatever reason this week, I feel like I am eating lots! I am at or slightly under my points, but I just feel so full and bloated. I know I am "pigging out" on carbs...not so much today, but yesterday OMG! But I really feel like I have put weight on big time. Even my belly looks bloated! I hope it isn't over a 1 kg gain, but I can't see how it can't be at least 500g! Maybe it is all the water I am drinking due to the heat.

But for every bad, comes a good. Energy is right back where it should be! Really only had the one day of I can't be bothered moving!

But a bad...i could not sleep last night...and thank you so much to the 3 or so people who decided to have a verbal argument outside our house! Carry on about your relationship somewhere else at 2.30am!
So by the time 5am came around, I COULD NOT go to group training. I just couldn't. So then for the next 2 hours I lay in bed justifying why I couldn't go to training! So still no sleep! Thankfully I was not dead all day!

So that was bad. Counteract with a good. We took our daughter for a bike ride down on the river. Unfortunately my new bike is not handling my pace too well (lol) and broke (and no not the seat or a flat tyre, how demoralizing would that be??), so we took the bikes back to the car. But that doesn't sound too good I know...except...I told hubby to keep riding and I would jog!
So up hills, and some bloody steep ones...I jogged over 2km! I have been doing over 2km the last few jogs, but always flat, and these hills were just stupid to run up. But the best thing...when I returned and was running down them, I felt so proud that I got up them in the first place!

so now my bad...having a wine. But it is Friday night, I did say I would have 2 glasses on a Friday and Saturday night, and I had a 1 point beer and this is a 1.5 wine, and exactly on point allocation without going into any bonus exercise points.

I hope I am wrong about putting on the weight. I am determined to work my butt off this weekend. Going jogging again tomorrow morning...might try some interval training, to mix it up again. We will see, depends on the sleep tonight I think, and it is going to be a hot one tomorrow, so will need it to be early. Of course need to really control what I am eating at the bbq tomorrow afternoon. Since I have decided to take my own nibblies, meat, salad and dessert, there is no need for me to eat any of their food so I can only blame myself if I lose control. I know I will probably cop crap for bringing everything, i mean, who does that? but i don't want fat ridden food clogging and fattening me up! I don't need it or want it!

Totally lost my mojo

Yesterday was a terrible day. Totally lost my desire to do anything. But in that, I lost my desire to eat too. I sat on the couch and couldn't move. I was dead tired! Thinking the heat from Monday and group training and netball just drained me!
I pulled myself out of it and took the dog for a 3 lap jog after dinner. I thought he was going to die, I did it quite easily, but went twice as slow as normal (if that is possible) due to the heat! But only got about 6000 steps for the day! More then half of what I normally do! OH DEAR!

Today, so far, I have energy to do stuff...have been out and about, but no exercise. will go out tonight for a jog.

I am just in shock at how one minute I was on an absolute high, the next, noway was my butt moving. all i wanted to do was nap, and once my daughter went to sleep, I couldn't even be bothered laying down to nap! How sad!

Now I have a child who is refusing to sleep, so it wouldn't matter what I wanted to do, she wont let me. Trying to ignore the crying, as she is dead tired...could barely keep her eyes open in the car...but of course now she thinks she is wide awake. Typical! And I was all set to go on the treadmill!

But at least food side, yesterday and today, kept to points.
Unfortunately my darling husband has arranged a get together with friends who we haven't seen in well over a year (and for a reason too!). And while we have the child with current sleep issues, we are going to their house. WHY???? It is so much easier to have people here! And food wise easier for me too! I can prepare, weigh, add or not add dressing, do everything. This girl is a terrible eater. Always has salami, cheeses, lollies and nacho chips to snack on, then all salads are covered with mayo. Although I know i can stay away from the nibblies (she is normally the only one who eats them anyway), there just wont be a healthy choice, except for what I bring.
My husband will no doubt tell them I am on WW the minute we walk in the door, or ask in front of everyone "how many points is that?"...so they will know. I know it will make it easier if they knew, they might make something healthy...but she doesn't know what healthy is, a salad is healthy...even smothered in mayo and of course a Caesar salad is the healthiest choice at a restaurant! yeah right!
If want to tell people I am on WW, it is my choice. he doesn't have the right. and yes, he has told others and it is embarrassing. I feel like if I am on WW, I shouldn't be this fat so i must be failing, even though it has only be 2 1/2 months. I know that, but they don't. Oh it is all too hard.

The wife is a very large girl, goes on really weird diets, probably one a year for a short time, never loses weight (because of the salami, cheese, lollies and the copious amounts of coke she drinks!) and is now considering lap band surgery as his sister lost heaps with it. Well, my belief on lap band surgery is pretty non existent. If you do it the hard way...the old fashioned way...the exercise/good eating/portion control (gee, sound familiar), you will lose weight. These quick fixes don't change lifestyle. I am all for morbidly obese people who have tried the old fashioned way and have been successful and have kept it off but were so big they need the help. but those that really, a 2 week diet doesn't work so i will have surgery?? please! And in regards to those morbidly obese people just spoken of, looking on WW community, there are a lot of people on there who have been morbidly obese and have lost 40+kg, and still going. no surgery in sight. so maybe even that is an excuse too. if they can do it...why not others? Except of course those who have medical reasons...always exceptions!

Anyway, what a rant! Guess I am just a bit annoyed that I am going to have to save points and use them (i never do that!), and really work my butt off, and it is sat night and WI is monday night. I can just feel all my weight slip away! or is that slip back on??? If i had control of the food, i.e. it was at our house, it wouldn't be an issue! One thing...at least I will be driving so I wont be drinking...but then to put up with her for more then 60minutes, I need to drink! LOL! I have done so well, enjoy the WW program, love the food I am eating and feel good on the inside, skin is in excellent condition and am starting to look good on the outside (well i think!), I don't want a slip up. I don't want a night off. that isn't what WW is about for me. WW is forever! I eat healthy cos i want to be healthy. i want to be in control of what goes in and therefore be in control of how I look and feel afterwards.
I don't think my hubby gets that. He is not fat, never has been. he couldn't possibly get it.

Stopping now before i get more worked up! LOL! Daughter sleeping. Going to jump on treadmill for 20 minutes....have to wake her up in 30minutes to pick up the dog who is getting a hair cut. Oh I just can't win!

WI day.

Weigh in day today and I was really hoping that the no alcohol, the planning of meals from the new cookbook, the increased exercise...all those things would get me 0.5 - 1kg.
I mean, I had done all that (limited alcohol, not none at although) the two weeks prior and I got a 100g and 300g weight loss. very disheartening when you are really working your butt off!

So close the eyes, I feel fit, I feel strong, I feel good, I must show it on the bloody scales surely!
AND YES I DID!
A massive 2.1 kg. Which brings me to 10.9kg lost so far. 12 weeks and look at me! What will the year bring?!
I am also at my 10%.

It is funny though, yesterday and today I was thinking when I get to my 10kg loss, I will be so happy and possibly satisfied, after all there are LOTS of people out there who are bigger, and it is hard, well, I guess not that hard, as hard as I want to make it. but 10kg, that is a lot to lose, be happy with that!

but then I am just not that kind of person who would be satisfied with that. I set myself a goal. I will achieve.

Today at outdoor group training, at 6am and in the sweltering heat, my asthma was just letting me know it still existed. I was running, wheezing, looking oh so sporty I am sure.
I was so close to walking. Others were walking, why can't I? I kept saying to myself to finish this run, and the next one you can walk. got to the next run set and said the same. then as it went on, only 2 run sets to go...why give up now when you have come so far???
And I didn't. More and more of the girls would walk half the distance, or go even slower then me if that is possible...but I KEPT GIVING IT MY ALL, wheezing and all.
I really felt proud.

then weigh in, and nobody could wipe this smile off my face!

Had netball, and one of the girls, who is only like 75kg said "You are my inspiration!"...I'm like "what for?"
she went on to say that she really needed to lose weight, (what!!! at 75kg???) she had no time, she had kids, she could never commit, could never lose weight, she had been that size for as long as she could remember. She then said...."You teach so you don't have time, you have a toddler which is harder then my primary age kids, you have injury after injury yet you keep going, you're committed and you are doing it! I look at you and you are looking great. On the netball court you look great. You are fitter then me, faster then me. You have no excuse. I need what you have!"

WOW! I don't think I have ever had such a compliment before. Of course I had no idea of how to take this compliment...but it was so nice to hear. another reason to smile!!!

So, HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!
Now I get my reward of a massage.

So now I have to set my new goal and new reward. Still every 10 will be a massage, but I think I need something at other milestones too.
getting into the 80s....what could it be??!!

I can run! :) but today is just too hot!

Got up early yesterday and went to the lake I used to try to run around. It has 100m markings, and I have only ever got to about 600m, even when I was about 4kg lighter.
Yesterday, not only did I run the whole lake of 1.8km, but I kept going to 300 mark, walked to 600m and then jogged the rest!
Then did a final walking lap which I paced myself with a guy who had great pins on him, and he looked about 65 but was going at a gun pace! thankfully I could keep up with him!

So very proud of myself! I cannot believe I can jog over 1km straight, let alone as much as I am doing. I might be slow, but I get there!

It would be nice to lose the boobs though. I am so self conscious of which direction they are going in at all times! LOL My friend says I am so lucky to have them and that even now I am losing weight, I am not losing my puppies. You can tell she is a small busted friend! My puppies happen to be full grown malamutes! Anybody with a D cup or more knows the challenges of them, especially when sport of any sort is involved! And DD cups+ just know the comfort level we have for every day things! I guess I just have to put up with them for now, and constantly store them in a sports bra! so flattering!

Today is a sweltering 42 C. Way too hot for anything, even early this morning. While my daughter was sleeping I got on Wii fit for 55 minutes, 20 mins doing the cardio stuff. I don't know how effective it is as far as exercise is concerned. But I guess, it is that, or lay down on the couch and have a nap or watch TV. So it has to be better then nothing! And for what I did, I still am under 4000 steps for the day. not even 1 bonus point! Oh dear!!! Will definitely be walking this arvo, heat or no heat!

And I lasted my goal of NO alcohol for the week! Started last Sunday, and didn't drink anything! And it is disgusting how bad someone's breath is after they have had 2 glasses of red. I know I will be brushing my teeth twice before I go to bed after just 1 drink!
I would like a glass tonight, but have decided to go that extra day (well will be 2 days, as tomorrow I have netball) as Weigh In is tomorrow and I really want to see what impact no alcohol has. When I decided to cut it down, I lost 2kg in one week, and again the following week. The last few weeks I have just gone down 400g. So hopefully can get back up to 1kg loss with the no alcohol. Would like to think it was all worth it! I know it is worth it on the health, but lets face it...I want numbers on the scale dropped!

Group training in the morning, and netball for the first time in a month. looking forward to it, see how much fitter I am. Still want to get to play C one of these days!!! :)

a quickie!

Group outdoor training this morning. was tough! Found the running hard, but I did it! "burpies" have a stupid name and are just damn hard! did lots of stuff, step out push ups ... would really like to start doing toe push ups but gees my arms are weak. a new goal to set! suicide runs, or more like jogs and on the last set shuffles...squats, shoulder press...i can't even remember them all!
But all worth it. 5 bonus exercise points.
And made another recipe from the new WW recipe book and it was yummy! Creamy bacon and chicken carbonara 7 points.

Still no alcohol...and Friday night...it is hard!

Thursday, January 14, 2010

4 points worth!

Well, I couldn't resist. I had to have some maltesers. And 4 points worth!!! Which really wasn't that much, but I had allocated all my points worth for the day and that pretty much left me with not a lot!

But...dinner...I changed the base for my chicken pizza to mountain bread worth only 1 point, compared to 3.5. So a minor tweak and I got my chocolate fix and got my pizza too. Wouldn't recommend mountain bread for pizza base though...it gets too sloppy!

I was also incredibly tempted to pass on my weeks goal of being alcohol free and move it to next week. I thought "just one beer".
Just one beer means I'm just not dedicated enough.
So no beer for me!

But I didn't do any exercise...too lethargic and couldn't break it!

I struggled...I conquered!

What do you do when you are stuck at home?

So last night was one of the worst nights.
11.20pm I am woken with the worst cries from my darling daughter. I run in there, she is screaming and wanting cuddles so I pick her and I got vomit all over me. put her down, vomit all over the carpet. Turn on the light, her cot is just full of it!
I clean up, husband thinks it is a good idea to have her in our bed. Once I am freshly showered and clothed, I go into bed...and vomit all over my face/hair/pillow/sheets/doona/underlay...everything!
I will just point out now, that when I say everything...I DO NOT mean my husband...he is totally unscathed!

So DD + I shower, try to get some gastrolites into her, but this produces more vomit, so watch a kids movie with her to calm her and hope the vomit has subsided.
Hop into bed at 2.30am...every 20 minutes I am woken by those same screams...darling daughter is dry wretching as nothing left to get out. Last scream at 5am.
So got a "sleep in" until 9am! How lucky, after the night I had!!!

So now my dilemma.
I was supposed to go out with a girlfriend and her son and we were to do a relay style jog...I look after the kids in the playground, she runs the oval, then she looks after kids and I run.
I never have issues exercising, well now i am no longer injured. I love it. and any chance I get, I do it! so now I had to cancel due to a sick "gastroey" child, who whilst is great today, must be isolated so we are stuck inside. Can't go to the shops, can't go to a park (it is 35 degrees + anyway), and I want to do something! I have only just reached my healthy state on my pedometer, normally I have earned 1 point by 10am!
OMG boredom is a bastard! I am watching a movie, a great movie too...but I have figured I always do something in the mornings with my DD and it normally involves some sort of activity. And now I can't do it and I have no energy, no get up and go, just absolute lethargy, but still the desire to lose the lethargy.
Probably makes no sense at all.

So now I will wait...do diddly squat around the house (housework is done already, and did the washing at 2am this morning!) wait for hubby to come home and we eat dinner then take the dog for a walk. Tomorrow start a new with bootcamp (or so they call it, i will call it circuit training outdoors).
But a pain for now. cos what do i want to do? Eat the box of maltesers in the fridge that have been there since 15th December and i have had no desire to eat.
I have only ever slipped with alcohol...not with food and really don't want to start now.
But I hear my DD crying in bed, less then an hour day sleep, great, I am in for a bugger of an afternoon!

First one...

Well, I am overweight, but doing something about it!
What made me put on weight in the first place?
When haven't I been overweight? I was born normal...but piled on the kilos in the first 2 years of my life (well, so my baby book says). And I just got bigger and bigger!

Now I have my own gorgeous girl...who is now just over 2...and thankfully, I have kept the kilos at bay for her. She is of perfect weight and health.

All in all, I don't want my girl to go through what I did as a toddler, child, teen and adult. I don't want her making excuses for what she looks like. I don't want her to hide behind masks to compensate for her low self esteem.
I want her to be happy naturally. And my positive attitude which is coming with my goals will do that!

Before anybody comments that I am already putting a focus on weight and looks for my daughter, and inevitably this will be negative...
I make sure I NEVER speak about weight in front of her.
I make sure I speak positively, even if I might not believe it for myself.
And, lets face it...Life is about what you look like. People are discriminated against due to how they look, the colour of their skin, how skinny/fat they are, what abnormalities they have/have not, the blemishes they have that day... It may not be right, but it happens.
And as a fat person, all my life, i have suffered. I won't be suffering for the rest of my life though.
It changes now.

My goals aren't to be skinny, aren't to be beautiful, aren't to be a model...being fit and healthy and happy within myself...that is what I am achieving.

I started Weight Watchers in November...just changed my eating based on the plan. boy did I eat a lot! I ate healthy food...always lots of veges. Always trimmed fat off food. But every now and then at junk food, just like most people do. But I would pile my plate high with the good stuff...go back for seconds. eat throughout the day...I never realised how much I actually at in the day!

i didn't up the exercise as I was injured (and not recovering because of the weight), so just focused on the food and portions.
Then I looked at the alcohol. Lost 4kg in 2 weeks when i cut the alcohol down. Unbelievable!

Now, I have started doing a lot of exercise. Injury is almost gone and I can run, jump etc. So I jog every 2nd day and generally take the dog and my daughter for a walk every day. My pedometer steps are normally around 13000 for the day, sometimes close to 20000, sometimes just under 10000.

So far, all of this has helped with a total weight loss in 10 weeks of 8.8kg.
It will only get better! Already I feel fitter, stronger and happier. I like this feeling and don't want to lose it!
